i'm happy to report that Twerk @AudibleOddities is mastering the online dist. version of überwunder.

so you ask...what's the difference between the online version and the CD apart from the physical packaging? (good question).
1) the CD will have 1 extra track - "Libertanque". The online version does not have this because i thought the album continuity / flow was a bit disturbed by this track, which was written last.
2) the CD format supports uncompressed 16 bit PCM at 44.1kHz sampling rate, allowing for fairly accurate representation of info in the sonic spectrum, so long as you have sufficient amp/speakers. most digital versions are offered as compressed files (m4a, mp3, ogg, etc.), which are lossy especially in the high frequency range. to make sure formats such as mp3 can sufficiently represent the high frequency range in the songs, many artists purposefully shelf off some frequencies (uber lows, for example) to make sure the format has enough bytes to encode the higher frequency range - which usually doesn't compress so well.
modern codecs - such as apple's m4a and ogg vorbis - are much better sounding (more musical as well) and the above may not be so important, but mp3 still struggles with this problem.
3) Twerk will take his stab at shaping the final product with eq and compression, along with some other mystical black magic to make überwunder a wunderful aural experience.
so there you have it. if buying digital music via online distributers is your cup of tea, i'm sure you'll like what you hear soon.. if not...i recommend getting both! ^___^
